בתחילת החודש במהלך פעילות של שוטרי המחוז הצפוני בכפר ריינה, זיהו השוטרים רכב שזיגזג על הכביש ועצרו אותו לבדיקה. לאחר עצירתו, זיהו השוטרים ג'ויינט ליד נהג הרכב, תושב המקום בן 37, והחליטו לבצע חיפוש לאיתור ממצאים שונים הקשורים לעבירות סמים.
במהלך החיפוש ברכב חשפו השוטרים סמים רבים מסוגים שונים המחולקים לשקיות קטנות והחליטו לעצור את הנהג לחקירה בחשד לסחר בסמים. עם התקדמות החקירה ולאחר פתיחת מכשירו הסלולרי של הנאשם, חשפו החוקרים תמונות בהן ניראה החשוד מחזיק בכלי נשק שונים.
הבוקר, עם סיום שלב החקירה, תגיש פרקליטות מחוז צפון באמצעות עו"ד רג'ד שדאפנה כתב אישום לצד בקשה למעצר הנאשם עד תום ההליכים בבית המשפט בנוף הגליל- נצרת במגוון עבירות בתחום הסמים והנשק.
שוטרי המחוז הצפוני יחד עם לוחמי מג"ב ממשיכים לפעול בנחישות נגד פשיעה חמורה והחזקת אמצעי לחימה בלתי חוקיים למען שמירה על ביטחון הציבור. מתחילת השנה נתפסו בתחומי המחוז הצפוני מעל 1000 אמצעי לחימה וסוכלו חוליות חמושות.
