בלשי יחידת התנועה של הימ"ר במחוז ירושלים עצרו אמש נהג בשנות ה־50 לחייו, תושב מזרח ירושלים, לאחר שניסה להימלט מהם תוך נהיגה מסוכנת שהובילה לתאונה. בבדיקה התברר כי הנהג לא החזיק ברישיון נהיגה מאז 1997.
האירוע התרחש בשכונת אבו תור שבמזרח העיר, במהלך פעילות אכיפה סמויה. בלשי ימ"ר את״ן הבחינו ברכב שנע בנהיגה פרועה, תוך סיכון משתמשי הדרך. כשהורו לו לעצור, הנהג התעלם והגביר מהירות בניסיון להימלט.
במהלך מרדף קצר ובנסיעה מסוכנת בתוך השכונה, פגע הנהג ברכב אחר וגרם לנזק. למרות זאת המשיך בדרכו עד שבלשי התנועה הצליחו לבלום את הרכב ולעצור אותו.
בבדיקה ראשונית התבררה התמונה המטרידה: רישיון הנהיגה של החשוד פקע לפני יותר מ־25 שנה, אך הוא המשיך לנהוג כאילו דבר לא אירע, תוך סיכון חיי אדם.
הנהג הועבר לחקירה במשרדי ימ"ר את"ן, והטיפול בעניינו יימשך במסגרת הליך תעבורתי ופלילי.
במשטרה אומרים כי “נהיגה פרועה, הימלטות משוטרים ונהיגה ללא רישיון במשך שנים ארוכות הם סכנה חמורה לציבור. משטרת ישראל תפעל בנחישות, בכל זמן ובכל מקום, נגד נהגים עברייניים המסכנים את משתמשי הדרך.”
