משרד הבריאות הודיע היום כי ילד בן 6 נפטר משפעת. הילד, בריא בדרך כלל ומחוסן לשפעת, סבל לפני מספר ימים מחום ושיעול, מצבו הידרדר ולמרות מאמצי החייאה נקבע מותו.
משרד הבריאות מזהיר כי בישראל ובמדינות נוספות, עונת השפעת השנה החלה מוקדם וניכר כי קצב התחלואה משפעת נמצא בעליה תלולה. ממעקב אחר נתונים בעולם צפויה להיות עונה עם תחלואה קשה.
משרד הבריאות מדגיש כי על אף שהחיסון כנגד שפעת אינו מונע באופן מוחלט את ההידבקות במחלה, במרבית המקרים הוא מסייע בהקלה בחומרתה, ומפחית משמעותית את הסיכון לתחלואה קשה או מוות.
המשרד שב וקורא לציבור להתחסן נגד השפעת. החיסון בטוח ומומלץ מגיל ששה חודשים ומעלה.
